It's time to take a look back at the stories that had everyone talking in 2012.
Among them: a 17 year old's walk home alone, a hoodie and a gunshot from a man patrolling his neighborhood were the key points in the Trayvon Martin story. His death had people talking nationwide about Florida's Stand Your Ground law as thousands rallied for justice in Sanford.
That's not the only lightning rod for controversy arising in Florida.
The Petraeus scandal brought coast-to-coast scrutiny to Bayshore Boulevard where Jill Kelley, the woman who unknowingly tipped off the FBI about Petraeus' affair, tried her best to avoid the media spotlight.
It was a flooded Bayshore Boulevard that had people talking in June. Tropical Storm Debby's wrath was all cleaned up in time for the arrival of the politicos taking over Tampa for the Republican National Convention.

Finally, 2012 brought closure to a story we've followed for years. The mystery monkey on the run in Pinellas County, seen by so many. He was finally captured in October, after he bit a woman. Now the monkey is settling in to his new home at Dade City's wild things.
