Missing UMD student David Scherr found dead

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -

Officials in Prince George's County say they have found the body of missing University of Maryland student David Scherr.

Scherr had been missing since he was last seen near the campus in College Park on December 19.

Police found 20-year-old Scherr's unresponsive body in a black Ford Escape near Route 197 and Route 450 in Bowie.

His death is being investigated as a suicide.
