Investigators have released new photos of two missing Suwanee brothers and their father, who is believed to have abducted them. Surveillance photos taken at a Walmart in Chattanooga, Tennessee on December 23 and December 24 show Daniel Cleary and his two sons, 9-year-old Ben and 7-year-old Henry, inside the store.
The boys' mother, Theresa Nash, reported her sons missing after Daniel Cleary, 46, picked the boys up on December 19 but did not return them to her custody as he was supposed to do. Police say Cleary is supposed to have daily contact with Nash, but she has been unable to reach him since December 22.
Police say Daniel Cleary is believed to be armed. Police say the three are possibly traveling in a silver 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Georgia temporary tag #10742627. Investigators said Friday afternoon that the Jeep may be towing a light-colored, enclosed trailer with one axle. There may also be a dark-colored cargo bag on top of the vehicle.
Police believe Daniel Cleary may have switched cars to travel in the Jeep Cherokee they describe, but they say he does not have family in Tennessee. Cleary does have family in California and Florida, Nash said. Nash told FOX 5 Cleary's Roswell home has been emptied and he is only using cash for purchases.
Nash said that Cleary's friend confirmed that the father had purchased a Glock handgun last month, and she said that police have confirmed that he has it with him.
Police say they are concerned for the safety of the children based on their father's activity and the fact that he is believed to be armed, but they did not give further details. Nash's family and friends are organizing a prayer vigil for the boys. It will take place this Sunday, December 30, at 2 p.m. at the Suwanee Town Center Park.
Ben Cleary, 9, is a described as a white male with brown, medium-length hair and brown eyes who is about 4'6" tall and weighs approximately 66 pounds. Henry Cleary, 7, is described as a white male with brown hair and green eyes who is about 4'3" tall and weighs approximately 60 pounds. Both boys were last seen wearing light blue winter vests.
Daniel Cleary, 46, is described as a white male with medium-length gray hair and brown eyes who is approximately 6' tall and weighs about 220 pounds.
Anyone with information about the location of the missing children and the suspect should call the Roswell Police Department at (770) 640-4160.
