
Dylan Grey (Frederick Police Department)A teenage boy has been sent to the hospital after being shot in the chest in Frederick. A 17-year-old has been charged as an adult in the shooting.
The shooting happened in the 400 block of Hillcrest Drive Wednesday afternoon.
Frederick Police say the 16-year-old male victim went to a home on the street where an altercation occurred. During the altercation, the suspect produced a handgun and threatened the victim. The suspect then shot the victim.
The victim was taken to a trauma center where he is in serious, but stable condition. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
Police have arrested 17-year-old Dylan Grey and he will be charged with first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, handgun on person, and use of handgun in commission of violent crime.
Police say the suspect and the victim knew each other.
