FAIRFAX, Va. -
Fairfax County Police say a 27-year-old Falls Church man has been arrested in the murder of Vanessa Pham, a 19-year-old who was found stabbed to death inside her car in Fairfax.
Police have charged Julio Miguel Blanco-Garcia with first-degree murder. He was arrested just after noon with the help of U.S. Marshals, who found him working at a construction site in Vienna Thursday.
Investigators say Pham visited a business in the Fairfax Plaza Shopping Center on Gallows Road at around 3 p.m. on June 27, 2010.
Her car was found crashed about a half an hour later in a ditch off of Arlington Boulevard. Police said Pham's injuries were inconsistent with the crash.
Surveillance video that day shows Pham's 2008 Toyota Scion leaving the shopping center a short time before police responded to the crash.
Police say homicide detectives were able to link Blanco-Garcia to Pham's death through analysis of forensic evidence.
Police say there was no known relationship between Pham and Blanco-Garcia.
Blanco-Garcia is scheduled to appear in Fairfax District Court on Friday at 8:30 a.m.
