West Philly Dog Fighting Operation Busted

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Officers with the SPCA removed several dogs from a West Philadelphia home Wednesday night that were used in a suspected dog fighting operation.

The SPCA says it received information Wednesday morning that there was a fighting operation inside a home on the 6000 block of Allman Street.

After obtaining a search warrant, officers say they entered the home and removed three dogs.

Officers say the home appeared to be a fairly large operation that also served as a breeding operation.

The dogs have been signed over by the owner to the SPCA and will be examined by a veterinarian.
