PHILADELPHIA -
FOX 29 has learned the Philadelphia District Attorney's office has dropped another 41 drug cases in wake of the controversy surrounding the police department's narcotics unit.
Sources in the criminal justice system tell FOX 29's Jeff Cole the cases were all felony cases and the suspects were being held in jail.
Those suspects not facing other charges will be released.
The move comes after a week FOX 29 first reported that, in a letter to the police commissioner, DA Seth Williams said his office would no longer use six former members of the narcotics unit as witnesses in drug cases.
The DA did not give a reason.
The officers have since been transferred, but have not been disciplined or charged.
