WASHINGTON -

Our FOX 5 family took some time to celebrate the holidays on 12-12-12 with our 2nd annual FOX 5 Dessert Day!

A handful of co-workers brought in these delicious treats ranging from red velvet cupcakes, mini-cheesecakes and tons of cookies - just to name a few of the goodies.

We want to send a big thank you to all of the FOX 5 bakers!

Dessert day was also about giving back. As we feasted, we also collected donations for the victims of Superstorm Sandy.

We encourage you to donate as well. To help those in need, you can go to the American Red Cross and NJ Hometown Heroes (all donations to NJ Hometown Heroes go directly to helping residents at the Jersey Shore).

It was commuter confusion out on Interstate 66 Monday morning. Drivers heading eastbound towards Washington D.C. wound up seeing their traffic lanes suddenly turn into a mess. Lane stripes somehow pulled away from the road surface and created a mess of tangled tape and lanes that didn't make sense.

Some people collect stamps. Some people collect coins. But the Maryland woman you are about to meet collects a little slice of summer.
