Philly DA Issues Statement In Response To Transferred Cops

PHILADELPHIA -
The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office isn't saying much about a FOX 29 report on the transfer of six Philadelphia Police Department narcotics officers.
Last week, FOX 29's Jeff Cole told you about a letter sent by the DA's office to police, informing them that they would no longer be using six officers as witnesses in drug cases.
Since then, FOX 29 has learned 17 cases have been dropped and suspects have been freed.
In a statement, District Attorney Seth Williams said:
"Under the law, district attorneys have discretion to determine whether it is appropriate under all the circumstances to proceed with a particular prosecution. The office has exercised that discretion with respect to cases involving certain Philadelphia police officers who recently were assigned to a narcotics field unit. Those cases will be evaluated on an individual basis."

At approximately 2:45pm Wednesday afternoon, a bank robbery occurred at the National Penn Bank on E. High Street in Pottstown, PA. Police have captured three of the fours suspects so far.
