WASHINGTON -
Before the shooting on a D.C. Metrobus Sunday night, there was going to be a surprise birthday party. The family of Selina Brown gathered at the family's Koffee Lounge on Georgia Avenue to remember her instead.
The mood at the club was somber. Friends hugged, cried and prayed as Selina's grieving mother, Roshann Koffee Ferguson, greeted friends and relatives.
They expressed condolences and shared stories about Selina's sense of humor, classes she was taking at the University of the District of Columbia, and what a great mom she was, despite her young age.
They also reacted to the news that the suspected killer, Javon Foster, had committed suicide in New York, wondering how he could take the life of one so dear, and in the process, injure his own little girl.
