Parents and residents turned out in force in DeKalb County on Monday to hear school board plans to reorganize schools. The board is considering a five-year plan from Superintendent Cheryl Atkinson.
The plan would close some schools and renovate others to accommodate more students.
One after another, residents told the board they want to be a part of decisions affecting their children and their schools. Tonight's forum was the first public meeting on the reorganization proposal.
The school board plans other public forums before it makes a final decision next month.
