Northampton Township police say the accident happened at 1:50 p.m. Saturday on the 1500 block of Old Jacksonville Road in the Ivyland section of the township.

The car, a Monte Carlo SS was carrying five teens when it apparently left the road and slammed into a pole.  The vehicle was sheared in half and came to a rest in a tree.  The driver and three passengers were to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown.  Some of those injured are students in the Council Rock School District.

The others passengers are identified as Monroe Leonard Tanner IV, 18, Louis Piotti, 17, Matthew Slade, 18, and Daniel Harris, 17.

Council Rock School Superintendent Mark Klein announced that counselors would be made available to students at CR North and South high schools.

    NICE EASTER WEEKEND

The first half of the holiday weekend has been great and Easter Sunday looks just as nice. Clouds thin out late tonight with temperatures falling back to the 40s.

Initially it'll be jacket weather early Sunday morning but plenty of sunshine will warm us into the 60s by afternoon.  High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday.

It will be noticeably cooler and breezy at the shore with highs in the low 50s.  Quiet conditions continue into Monday.
