The car, a Monte Carlo SS was carrying five teens when it apparently left the road and slammed into a pole.  The vehicle was sheared in half and came to a rest in a tree.  The driver and three passengers were to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown.  Some of those injured are students in the Council Rock School District.

The others passengers are identified as Monroe Leonard Tanner IV, 18, Louis Piotti, 17, Matthew Slade, 18, and Daniel Harris, 17.

Council Rock School Superintendent Mark Klein announced that counselors would be made available to students at CR North and South high schools.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of all the students involved in this tragedy," a statement from the superintendent read.

Officer Joseph Rosowski, an accident reconstruction expert, is investigating the crash. Anyone who witnessed the crash should contact Rosowski at 215-322-6111.
