KENNESAW, Ga. -

A fundraiser was held Saturday for a Holly Springs couple injured in a parade accident in Texas.

Meg and Shane Lander were on a parade float that was struck by a freight train.

Meg Ladner lost her left leg. Her husband, a Holly Springs Police Officer, says she underwent a marathon surgery to begin the repair work on her pelvis, and hip last week.

Friends of the couple hosted a breakfast and auction fundraiser to help with medical bills at the Kennesaw steakhouse where Meg used to work decades ago.
