COVINGTON, Ga. (AP) - Authorities in Newton County say a double shooting that left a husband and wife dead in their home was a murder-suicide.

The bodies of Robert and Lendene Dendy were found inside their house in Covington Monday morning by relatives.

Newton County officials worked with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and an autopsy determined that 44-year-old Robert Dendy's wounds were self-inflicted.

His 39-year-old wife, Lendene, was a teacher at Live Oak Elementary School.

Officials are unsure of the motive behind the shooting.

Covington is about 35 miles east of Atlanta.
