PAULSBORO, N.J. -
An open house for the Paulsboro community affected by last week's train derailment has been rescheduled for Wednesday night.
The event will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Nehaunsey Middle School, according to a news release from the U.S. Coast Guard and attributed to the "The Unified Command for the East Jefferson Street Bridge Derailment 2012 response."
Authorities say experts will be on hand "to answer questions regarding air monitoring, environmental information, community assistance, community protection and general questions."
The school is located at 415 Swedesboro Road in Gibbstown.
The open house had originally been set for Monday night at Paulsboro High School. But that was postponed due to a shelter-in-place order and air monitors the prior night continuing to detect elevated levels of the chemical vinyl chloride.
The evacuation zone for the incident was expanded Tuesday, and the shelter-in-place order was lifted for areas outside the evacuation zone.
