On Tuesday, his 43rd birthday, rap mogul Jay Z released a 24-minute documentary about the rise of the Barclays Center.

"Where I'm From" follows Jay Z a year before the opening of the arena in Brooklyn which is home to the Brooklyn Nets and is the site of a historic eight-day opening concert series by the widely popular entertainer.

In the video, Jay Z (who's real name is Sean Carter) is seen talking about the housing project at 560 State Street where he grew up and is also visible from the center.

On the final day of the eight-day run, Jay Z is seen taking the R train to the subway station at the Barlcays.

Fans and media hound the star as he walks flanked by police and security guards.

Once onboard the train, Jay sits next to a woman who doesn't initially recognize him.

"Are you famous?" she asks.

"Yes, but not very famous you don't know me. I'll get there some day."

"My name is Jay Z. What's yours?"

"Ellen. What do you do?"

"I make music."

"Do you just do a performance?"

"I'm on my way to a performance at the new Brooklyn arena."

"Fabulous."

"Eight shows actually. This is the last show."

"You take the subway. I'm proud of you," says Ellen.  "Say your name again so I get it?"

"Jay, Jay Z."

"Oh ! You're Jay Z. I know about Jay Z."
