Spring-Like Weather Hits The Nation

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Instead of the typical December snow, areas around the country are getting a taste of spring.

In Minnesota, outdoor hockey rinks are having a difficult time staying frozen thanks to the warm temperatures.

In our area, temperatures nearly hit 70 degrees Tuesday.

With just partly cloudy skies throughout the day, a walk outside felt much more like spring then it did late fall.

FOX 29 Meteorologist Caitlyn Roth says although it's warm, the weather isn't uncommon for the Philadelphia area. Last year, we had five days of 60-degree temperatures.

It may feel like spring now, but FOX 29 Chief Meteorologist Scott Williams says big changes are ahead, as a cold front makes its way into our area.

Not the prettiest Friday, but we're ready for a great weekend. Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. After an early high in the upper sixties, temperatures fall & winds pick up out of the chillier northwest. Right now the Memorial Day Weekend looks sunny and cool with highs in the low to mid 60s on Saturday, in the 70s Sunday & Monday. Cooler temps at the shore.

    Have fun!
