New Jersey officials plan to house as many as 300 families displaced by superstorm Sandy in the now inactive military base Fort Monmouth.

Good Day NY spoke with Assemblyman Declan O'Scanlon shared important information about applying for housing at the base.

O'Scanlon says families must register with FEMA first.

Call: 1-800-621-FEMA

Once you've done that, contact your FEMA rep.

If you're still not getting the help you need finding housing, call O'Scanlon's office at 732-933-1591.
