A Jersey City, N.J. boy was honored on Friday for his efforts to raise money for the Red Cross after Superstorm Sandy.

9-year-old Peter Coar designed and sold bracelets in order to raise money for storm victims.

The bracelets read, "Hurricane Sandy Relief" and "Support the Red Cross".

Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy honored the fourth grade student in a city hall ceremony.

The St. Francis Academy student says he felt nothing but compassion for the victims of the storm after his family was unscathed by the storm.

More than $1,500 has been collected towards "Petey's Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund."  All proceeds from the bracelets will be sent to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief.
