$1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold At Mainline Sunoco

Posted: Updated:

It's been non stop chatter inside the Wynnewood Sunoco all day Thursday.

"You know I'm mad. I play here every other night," said one woman.

"I don't know if lightning will strike twice," joked another woman.

Customers are disappointed they didn't win that $588 million jackpot Wednesday night and they also felt a double blow when they found out they missed a million dollar slice of the pie.

"So close yet so far," says one customer.

The ticket was sold at the very Sunoco at 330 East Lancaster Avenue where the people in the store normally play to win.  One woman said, "I came here and played last night but I didn't play that."

Khurram Aijaz got the call Thursday morning from lottery officials who said he had sold the ticket the night before. Then he said 30 minutes later one of his regular customers walked in.

"He's a really quiet guy but he was excited you could see," said Aijaz. He said the man told him he was in a pool of 10 people and had the winning ticket.

"He said that he worked the night shift and as soon as he got home four in the morning his phone started ringing. He said everybody was trying to contact him and asked, 'where's the ticket,'" said Aijaz.

People who missed the jackpot returned though hoping the winning ticket sold here is good luck for future jackpots.
