It's only Monday, but excitement is already brewing for this weekend's SEC Championship. Just ask Georgia Bulldogs fans! Athens is buzzing about the Dawgs, who are one win away from playing for the national title.
Georgia will face the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday for the SEC title, and both teams are coming off wins over their in-state rivals last Saturday. But Georgia fans know the stakes are extra high. The Bulldogs haven't won an SEC Championship since 2005, and they haven't been national champs since 1980!
Fan fever is growing in Athens, and the message is clear. They're ready, and some fans told FOX 5 on Monday they think this is their year. Tickets are tough-- and pricey-- to come by, but the merchandise? It's everywhere. Specialty shirts were selling fast on Monday-- some reading "Atlanta Bound and Hunkered Down."
