Teen found dead in Bronx apartment building

Police say 15-year-old girl was found dead in the lobby of a Bronx apartment building early Friday morning. 

Authorities said Destiny Sanchez was found by officers unconscious and unresponsive at 640 Barretto Avenue in the Hunts Point section around 8:07 a.m. 

EMS arrived to the location and pronounced her dead at the scene.

The Bronx medical examiner will determine the cause of death and police say their investigation is ongoing.

    New York City says it is fixing up the exterior of the Castle Hill public housing development in the Bronx, but one resident showed Fox 5 that more help is needed on the inside. Gwendolyn Peeks, a retired health care worker on disability, peeled off the contact paper to show us the damaged wall. She tried to cover up the peeling plaster and paint to protect the youngest family member, Aidan, who is 21 months old.
