The man the FBI is looking to capture this week is said to have been caught on bank surveillance cameras during four holdups but the best photos of his face may have been recorded somewhere else.
The FBI is looking for the public's help in locating Kenneth White, II, who was charged last week with the November 9, 2012 robbery of a Harris Bank branch in Park Ridge.
Agents say he is responsible for a number of additional robberies, all of which were recorded by bank surveillance cameras. But the clearest photos of White are said to have come from a bank security camera where he did not commit a robbery.
Agents believe when White went into the Brickyard Bank in Skokie on November 1st, he may have been casing the bank for a future holdup, and cameras grabbed some very good images of his face. The images played a large role in identifying White and obtaining the outstanding arrest warrant for him.
The FBI believes White is responsible for a total of four holdups since October 26, 2012. The first happened at the TCF Bank on Algonquin Road in Rolling Meadows. The second robbery occurred on November 5th Popular Community Bank, on West Irving Park Road near Harlem in Chicago. The next was on November 9th at the Harris Bank on Busse Road near Greenwood, and the last known bank robbery linked to the case happened on November 15th at the TCF Bank on Harlem at Belden.
White was convicted of robbing the Harris bank back in 2004, and he served time for that robbery.
The FBI says White's M.O. is to approach a teller and announces the robbery. Agents say has never shown a weapon or implied that he had one. But bank robbers can be unpredictable, and it can't say for certain if he has a gun or not, so it considers him a danger to the community. Agents say he wore a pullover hooded sweatshirt and a ball cap in each robbery. The caps have all been from various sports teams, including the Cubs, Yankees and Notre Dame.
The FBI is offering a reward for information that helps it locate, arrest and convict Kenneth White.
Here is the FBI's description of the White:
White male.
34 years old.
6' 3" tall.
190 pounds.
Brown shaved hair and light eyes.
White's last known address was 754 West Bode Circle, #106, in Hoffman Estates.
He is considered a danger to the community, if you see him or know who he is, you're asked to call police.
