ATLANTA (AP) - Rashaad Richardson hit a half-court 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift Georgia State past Tennessee State 59-57 Tuesday night in nonconference action.
Trailing with two seconds left, Tennesse State's (1-4) Deshawn Dockery made a layup to put the Tigers ahead 57-56 with two seconds left to play. The Tigers celebrated, but Richardson answered with some late heroics.
With one second left and Georgia State (2-2) trailing by one, Richardson nailed a 3-pointer from 45-feet as time expired to give the Panthers the victory.
It was Richardson's lone 3-pointer of the night. He finished with nine points.
Devonta White scored 19 points for the Panthers, and Cameron Solomon chipped in with 10.
Robert Covington led three players in double figures with 13 points for the Tigers. Patrick Miller and Jordan Cyphers added 12 points apiece for Tennessee State.
