Stephen Colbert wax figure unveiled at Madame Tussauds in DC

WASHINGTON, DC -

Stephen Colbert calls it the greatest gift of all - himself. "Ladies and gentlemen, there comes a time in every great man's life when he must be cast in wax - if only to remove unwanted body hair," says Colbert. At Madame Tussauds in downtown D.C., he was immortalized Friday.

"I wanna thank everyone at Madame Tussauds for the honor becoming the latest waxican American. Being cast in wax is true immortality as long as the earth is not in any way getting warmer," says Colbert.

The Comedy Central host sat for hours for a mold to be made. Artists spent four to six months creating the figure.

"Turns out - and I learned this from the Madam Tussauds' people - just moments ago - that on the color wheel, my skin color is semi-gloss Romney voter," says Colbert. It's him. Right down to the signature eyebrow and the finger point.

"It is 100 percent accurate. I'm happy to say - down to every freckle, every wrinkle, every hair. I even sent them a DVD of my latest colonoscopy," says Colbert. He was raised in South Carolina, but born in Washington, so he says he enjoys visiting D.C.

"It reminds me of my infancy. A lot of spitting up? A lot of infantile behavior," he laughs. He says his kids will visit the wax museum. Will it freak them out? "Of course, it freaks me out," says Colbert.

When asked if he has a message for Congress. "They're still here? All of them. They're still here. Ok," says Colbert.

Speaking of shirking responsibilities, Colbert says: "This little fella's gonna come in handy the next time I get called for jury duty," he jokes. To sum it up, he enjoys being graced by his own presence.
