Many Flyers are not playing here but overseas due to the NHL lockout. Earlier this week we talked about Ilya Bryzgalov in Russia, and now it's Wayne Simmonds playing in the Czech Republic, where he had a problem with fans.
In October, Simmonds was called "opice" by fans, which means monkey.
According to a report, eight fans have now been arrested and charged in the case. Those suspects could face up to three years in jail for their ignorant taunts.
The Hockey News reports that the fans were found through videos. Simmonds left the team Tuesday and returned to Canada, citing family reasons.
