ATLANTA -

"The Bert Show" will make the holidays brighter for U.S. military personnel spending Thanksgiving far from home. Organizers call it a "big thank you" with a little taste of home.

The program ensures thousands of soldiers stationed or deployed overseas receive a letter of gratitude on Thanksgiving Day.

Show hosts worked with the post office to gather and pack the thousands of letters going to various troops this year.

"The Bert Show" community sent 405,000 letters to service members last year.
