Suspect Wanted For Attempted Purse Snatching In New Castle Supermarket

Troopers in New Castle, Delaware are searching for a man who they say attempted to steal a woman's purse as she was at a Food Lion supermarket.

The incident occurred on November 8th at approximately 7:00 pm.  the victim, a 48 year-old female was pushing a shopping cart when she felt a tug on her arm.  The suspect was trying to pull her off her purse.   she managed to hold on to the purse as she fell to the ground.

The suspect ran away.  He is described as a black male,approximately 5'5" to 5'8", 150 to 185 pounds, 17 to 25 years old, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and khaki pants.
