Hot Topic: Account security

A report by the Daily Mail says some banks are warning customers to follow 30 rules to keep their account safe. If they don't, banks could say they are not responsible if the account is hacked.

Some of the rules include "demanding customers shred statements and receipts, ensure no one stands near them at cash machines, and check strangers can't overhear phone conversations to the bank."

The report also says a Spanish bank is requiring customers to have different PIN numbers for each bank card they have.

So, in today's Hot Topic question, we want to know: Do you use the same PIN number for all of your accounts?  Post your responses on our FOX 5 Atlanta Facebook page, tweet us @GoodDayAtlanta, or email us at goodday@myfoxatlanta.com! We'll read some of your responses during the 9 am hour of Good Day Atlanta.

The notion of 'Keeping up with the Jones' is not new, but there is a new pressure coming at you. Peer pressure - whether you're 13 or 33 - is a powerful thing. Now throw in social media and you have what an Atlanta counselor calls 'Keeping up with the Jones' on steroids. And if you're not careful that can get costly.
