Police are asking for the public's help in solving the murder of a business owner at his southwest Atlanta home on Monday.
Atlanta Police Detective Summer Benton said when police arrived at a Westview Community home, they found that Terry Porter had been shot and killed.
"We know that there was a shot heard in the neighborhood about 2:30 in the morning , however his body was not found until 7:o0 in the morning. So when a neighbor was going to work, that is when they noticed he was lying outside of his home," said Benton.
Police say Porter owned two businesses, including an assisted living facility in DeKalb County.
Investigators say his cellphone and his black 2006 Range Rover were stolen.
According to detectives, the stolen Range Rover's license tag is "BIM9827".
Anyone with information on the case is urged to call police at (404)577-TIPS(8477).
