WASHINGTON, DC -
Detectives in Charles County have linked the October murder of Teresa Bass on a Waldorf bike path with the murder of a DC Cabbie, Quadar Muhammad.
Law enforcement sources say the cases were quickly connected when a tipster told DC Police about 17 year old Joshua Terrell Mebane and a young woman he was dating.
Mebane and the juvenile female have been charged in D.C. with 1st degree murder for killing Muhammad on November 7th after requesting a ride to a Northeast school.
Police say the couple entered Muhammad's cab last Wednesday at the Greyhound bus terminal and asked to be driven to a school. Police say once they arrived, Mebane shot Muhammad. The car was later found on fire, with Muhammad's body inside. A witness reported to police that Bury talked about having killed a cab driver with her boyfriend.
They've being held in the D.C. jail.
Mebane is now facing first degree murder charges in Charles County as well. The Charles County Sheriff reported late Tuesday that it has obtained a warrant charging Mebane with first-degree murder in the shooting death the Oct. 26 of 40-year-old Teresa Bass in Waldorf, Md.
Bass and her husband, a Montgomery County firefighter, were walking their dog when both were shot. Bass's husband survived. There was no apparent motive. Nothing was taken.
