Residents Get Together In Opposition Over Philadelphia Casino

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

With the possibility of a new Philadelphia casino looming, some residents are making their opposition known.

A meeting was held last night by Casino-Free Philadelphia.

The group voiced their concerns about a casino in their neighborhood. Attendees said it will increase crime and decrease property values.

The meeting was prompted by Bart Blatstein's plan to convert the old Inquirer Building on North Broad Street into a $700-million casino and resort.
