Posted: Updated:
UPPER MERION TOWNSHIP, Pa. -

Police in Upper Merion Township are searching for two men who forced their way into the home of an 83-year-old man, whipped him in the head and face with a gun and then stole items from inside his home.

Police say it happened just before 3 p.m. Monday at a home on the 400 block of Upper Gulph Road in the Gulph Mills section of Upper Merion Township.

Police say when the man opened the door, two suspects forced their way in, whipping him with the gun and then forcing him to the floor.

The men drove off in a black sedan after taking valuables from the home, police said.

Police describe the first suspect as a white or light skinned black man in his 30s with dark hair and a medium build. The second suspect is described by police as a larger built white man in his 40s with a fair complexion and light colored hair.

Police say the black sedan they were seen driving had chrome wheels and a missing license plate.

The 83-year-old man was taken to Paoli Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for cuts to the head and face.

If you have any information, you're asked to call Upper Merion Police at 610-265-3232.
