DETROIT (WJBK) -- Detroit Police say Sunday afternoon a 20-year-old man was shot after he accidentally stepped on another rider's shoe on a crowded bus.

Witnesses say he apologized, but the victim was shot in the leg when the two men got off the bus at Gratiot and Conner.

According to witnesses, the gunman took off.  He was last seen running down Conner near Wilshire.  Police are counting on tips from the public to catch that shooter.

Thankfully, police say the victim is expected to recover.  He was listed in temporary serious condition.

DDOT has had its share of problems in recent years from cuts in service to broken down buses.  Security for passengers and bus drivers has also been an ongoing concern.
