WASHINGTON -
The Metro system says its trains are operating on a Saturday schedule because of Veterans Day.
That means trains begin running at 5 a.m. Monday and stop at midnight. Metrobus is operating on what's called a Saturday Supplemental schedule.
The federal holiday means Metro officials expect to handle fewer passengers than on a normal weekday.
Crews have been taking advantage of the Veterans Day weekend to do repair work on the Red, Orange and Green rail lines. That's caused some single-tracking in some areas.
