Police are asking the public for help in identifying two men caught on surveillance video trying to rob the 7-11 convenience store on Kenmore Avenue in Alexandria, VA. The men are seen entering the store around 3:17 a.m., October 30th. One jumps over the counter. The other walks around the corner. They rough up the store clerk. One suspect displays a handgun and holds the clerk, while the other suspect goes for the cash register.
Police say the men may be connected to similar robberies in nearby Fairfax. The robbers may have taken advantage of Hurricane Sandy, since they staged their crime the night that the Superstorm blew through the metro area.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Alexandria Police Detective William Oakley of the Criminal Investigations Section at 703-746-6606.
