On this edition of Ask Allison, Allison does her best to help a young man with a health problem.

He writes, "I am a 27-year-old young man in need of some advice. Last year I was in a horrible situation. I have really bad asthma and really bad sleep apnea and I am a morbidly obese. I have a tracheotomy tube in my neck. The doctor highly recommends that I have weight loss surgery. I am 5'5 and over 500 lbs. My parents and family members think it's not a good idea to have the surgery but I feel as this could be my last chance for living my life. I am having a real tough time choosing. I need your input please help. Thanks a lot, "Person in need of help."
