Free ferries to operate from Weehawken, JC to NYC

WEEHAWKEN, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey Transit and NY Waterways are offering additional options for those whose commute has been disrupted by Superstorm Sandy.

Free ferries will run from Liberty State Park to Lower Manhattan, and from Weehawken to Pier 79 at West 39th Street in midtown Manhattan.

Customers can board free shuttle buses at points across northern New Jersey to get to the ferry terminals.

A full list of the shuttle bus locations is available on NJ Transit's websites.

The service will operate weekdays between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. inbound, and outbound from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
