Problems reported in Fulton County centered on poll workers having difficulty finding registered voters on the roles, incorrectly steering others to provisional ballots and, in some cases, running out of provisional ballots altogether.
In the press conference on Thursday, Mitchell suggested that the county conducted an overall "good election." She acknowledge that 11,000 provisional ballots have to be verified.
"I'm happy to say that we are more than halfway through that assessment. We have no intention of not being able to complete that process tomorrow. We will complete the process timely. In addition to completing the process of reviewing the ballots, we will also be in the process of tabulating the ballots tomorrow afternoon," Mitchell said.
Secretary of State Brian Kemp has called Fulton's election trouble a debacle. Mitchell disputed that, but apologized to voters who endured delays and other troubles on Tuesday.
