Gov. Malloy to discuss storm help for Conn. businesses

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is drawing attention to efforts by the U.S. Small Business Administration and chambers of commerce to help Connecticut businesses affected by Superstorm Sandy.
The governor has scheduled a news conference at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford on Thursday morning to discuss the coordinated effort.
Residents and businesses in Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex and New London Counties that suffered damage as a result of the recent storm and are seeking damage assistance must register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. They can register online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or call FEMA at 1-800-621-FEMA.
Malloy is urging people to register online to speed up the registration process and avoid telephone hold times.
