Muggings prompt installation of lights in Fort Totten Park

WASHINGTON -

The National Park Service and Metro are trying to make Fort Totten Park safer.

They've installed two lights on a shortcut path between the metro station and the Ward 5 neighborhood.

The lights are thought to be a deterrent after seven muggings there so far this year.
