Nearly 300,000 homes on Long Island are in the dark with nearly 60,000 of those new outages caused by the Nor'Easter that provided a sucker punch to the already storm ravaged island.

It's been nine days with no power for a number of Long Island towns, including those that were not directly impacted by Sandy's surging waters and strong winds.

"LIPA is pretty mad at me.  I've demonstrated our anger towards LIPA. The information flow is pitiful. The level of frustration and anger among over 120K homes it's at a very disturbing level," Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano told Good Day New York on Thursday.

Great Neck Mayor Ralph Kreitzman said he has been unable to get any answers from the Long Island Power Authority.

"Rest assured we are working around the clock to get power restored," LIPA said. Officials said they have a massive workforce operating around the clock.

As for the new outages caused by the nor'easter, LIPA said it will address them before existing outages if they are easily repairable and impact wide areas.
