No privacy partitions, long lines at Detroit polls

Posted: Updated:

Along with the frustration over long lines at many voting locations across southeast Michigan, voters inside at least one polling place in Detroit had another issue, no privacy partitions.

After waiting for up to 4 hours in some cases to cast their ballots many voters inside Henry Ford High School telling FOX 2 they had to fill out their ballots out in the open. Elections officials say they ordered more partitions for the cafeteria area inside the school but only four additional privacy barriers arrived in time for Tuesday's election.

Some voters also complained that they had to stand up to fill out their ballots.

Voters were angry that this particular voting location was not prepared for the election. Tensions are running high during what could be record or near-record turnout in the city of Detroit.
