LONGPORT, N.J. -

Its been nearly a week since Sandy reached the Jersey Shore, and as residents are just beginning to clean up the mess it left behind, they now must prepare for a new storm.

It's exactly what storm weary residents do not need to be doing.

In Longport, FOX 29's Chris O'Connell reports crews worked frantically trying to put piles of sand that were washed away by Sandy back on the beach to protect it for what may be next.

"Its been awful. Very stressful for everyone," Joy Sparks, whose home looks like a war zone, said Monday night.

Outside, Sparks' possessions are in a trash heap at the curb.

The family lost four cars, and just when they didn't think they could handle any more, they've learned they'll have to prepare for a Nor'Easter headed for the area this week.

"We've literally been going non-stop for eight days now."

The small town of Longport is still in recovery mode.

Piles of curbside debris have now become a concern for the next storm as pieces from each pile could be picked up in the 50 mile-per-hour winds expected here.

Some residents say another storm isn't really a big deal because there's nothing left from their homes after Sandy hit.

You can watch Chris O'Connell's story in the video above.
