Police on Long Island, N.Y., issued a summons to a man who was improperly selling gas to cars directly from a boat fuel delivery truck, authorities said.

Suffolk County cops saw a line of more than a hundred vehicles lined up at a parking lot in Ronkonkoma Sunday night and the owner of Direct Marine Fuel Corporation dispensing gas from his company's truck for $4.80 per gallon, police said.

Robert Faulkner, 48, of Farmingville, was issued a ticket for handling flammable liquids without a permit and a summons for improper dispensing of flammable liquids, police said.

After cops shut Faulkner down, most people in line dispersed without incident, but a few "were annoyed and did express frustration," police said in an email.

Authorities also notified the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance.
