Mayor Michael Bloomberg said at a Sunday afternoon press conference that the carpooling restrictions that were put in place after Superstorm Sandy have been lifted.
The removal of the HOV restriction means three people are not needed in a vehicle for motorists traveling into New York City on Monday.
The carpool restrictions were initially removed Friday afternoon.
The same restrictions applied to the RFK Triborough Bridge and Henry Hudson Bridge.
Alternate Side Parking is suspended within the city for Monday.
City and state officials announced Wednesday that drivers must have at least three people in their vehicle to cross into Manhattan using any of the East River bridges and the Lincoln Tunnel from 6 am- Midnight on Thursday and Friday. The regulations ended several hours early.
The plan was intended to limit the number of vehicles entering Manhattan due to the heavy delays brought on by limited mass transit options following Hurricane Sandy.
All taxis, liveries, black cars and other TLC-licensed vehicles were exempt from HOV restrictions on bridges, according to @NYCMayorsOffice , the official Twitter account of the Bloomberg administration.
