Camden County Kids Ignore Christie's Halloween Instructions

Posted: Updated:
GLOUCESTER CITY, N.J. -

Eager trick or treaters in Camden County ignored Gov. Chris Christie's instructions and opted to move forward with their Halloween celebrations Wednesday night.

Christie rescheduled the holiday Wednesday in the wake of Sandy.

Because Gloucester City was spared of any damage from the storm, the mayor gave celebrating Halloween the green light.

Some residents in the area tell FOX 29 reporter Lauren Cohn it was a good idea not to delay the holiday because it helped to keep things normal.

Gloucester City has a Halloween tradition along Monmouth Street, where hundreds of kids turn out to get candy.
