COLLEGE PARK, Md. -

A Prince George's County man was killed in a crash on the Capital Beltway near College Park during the first Washington commute after superstorm Sandy.

Maryland State Police say 44-year-old Kwame Abban of Lanham was killed in the multi-vehicle crash early Wednesday.

Police say Abban's car stopped in the roadway after being rear-ended by a car. The second vehicle pulled over to the shoulder, but Abban's car stayed on the roadway. Moments later, it was struck by a truck. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The outer loop of I-495 was blocked for about five hours near New Hampshire Avenue and the I-95 split.
