Trick or Treating will have to wait for most children in New Jersey.
Gov. Chris Christie followed through on his warning that if conditions were not safe on Wednesday for Trick or Treating, he would sign an executive order rescheduling Halloween.
He made the initial announcement on his Twitter feed on Monday night. On Wednesday, he signed the order delaying Trick or Treating until Monday.
He Tweeted, "I better see you all out there on Monday with your costumes on and candy in tow."
The Garden State was feeling the brunt of Hurricane Sandy as it came ashore just south of Atlantic City.
More than a million people were still in the dark Wednesday. Many of them were in shoreline communities in Ocean and Monmouth counties.
