HARRISBURG, Pa. -
Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett on Sunday reminded Pennsylvania residents not to let Hurricane Sandy's category 1 scale fool them.
"These are going to be winds that are sustained," Corbett said during a Sunday briefing.
The Pennsylvania governor provided an update Sunday afternoon from FEMA headquarters.
Emergency officials and the governor echoed what others have stated about the storm's impacts and its dangers.
Gov. Corbett says the state is expecting to be hit the hardest in the eastern and southeastern areas, with as much as 6-10 inches of rain in some areas.
The state will pay close attention to the levels of streams, creaks and river.
The governor reminded everyone to find a safe place and stay there once the storm hits.
Following Corbett's press conference, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter addressed Philadelphia residents from the city's emergency management headquarters.
Nutter says he's talked to President Obama and was assured that the federal government would be available for whatever the city needed.
